HAGA invites you to join Sonja Roesch and Gus Kopriva in a conversation with Raphael Rubinstein as he presents his intimate observations and sentiments related to the transitioning art scenes in New York City and Houston. Mr. Rubinstein lives and works in both cities. He is in a unique position to offer his views relating to the two artistic centers.

Attendance is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.

Raphael Rubinstein is a New York based poet and art critic who is the author of numerous books. From 1997 to 2007, he was a senior editor at Art in America, where he continues to be a contributing editor. He is currently a professor of critical studies at the University of Houston School of Art. In 2002, the French government presented him with the award of Chevalier in the Order of Arts and Letters. In 2010, his blog The Silo won a Creative Capital/Warhol Foundation Arts Writers Grant.  He and his wife, artist Heather Rubinstein, live and work in Houston and New York.
